Jiangxi Wanghu Pavilion

Wanghu Pavilion is located on the shores of Poyang Lake where the rivers of Wu and Gan converge north of Wucheng Town. To its left and right, the Xiushui and Gan Rivers flow into the lake, making it one of the best spots to enjoy the view. Originally built during the Jin Dynasty, it has been destroyed and rebuilt many times throughout history. The current pavilion stands on a tall platform base, featuring four tiers, three eaves, and a four-cornered pyramidal roof. Its glazed tiles shimmer in layers of green, while its upturned eaves reach toward the clouds, creating a rather spectacular sight. From the pavilion, visitors can gaze into the distance to see winding rivers, the vast expanse of Poyang Lake, and scattered fishing boats — a serene and picturesque scene. The landscape changes with the weather: on sunny days, the green hills blend into the sky and the lake sparkles with ripples; on rainy days, misty waters envelop the area with raindrops dancing on the surface; and when the wind blows, towering white waves crash against the shore, splitting the tides apart.
