Wuxingdian Ancient City

Wuxingdian Ancient City is a cultural tourism attraction.

The original site of Wuxingdian Ancient City is now Weicheng. It was built in the third year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1370), with the city walls initially made of rammed earth, stretching 2,600 meters in circumference, standing 7 meters high and 8 meters wide. The moat was 5 meters deep, and the city had four gates facing east, west, south, and north. In the fourth year of the Hongzhi reign (1491), four gate towers were constructed: the eastern gate was named “Ying’en” (Welcome Grace), the western “Nanbin” (Southern Guest), the southern “Wangyuan” (Gaze into the Distance), and the northern “Gongchen” (Pay Homage to the Morning Star). The city contained numerous cultural relics and historic sites, including 18 temples, 5 government offices, 8 memorial archways, 5 ancient bridges, 1 ancient pagoda, and stood for 387 years before being destroyed by a flood in the 22nd year of the Qianlong reign (1757).
