Located on Wushigang, 3 kilometers southwest of Xujian Town, Guangchang County. It overlooks the county town and the Xujian River to the east and north, and features cliffs on the east and west sides, standing 233.4 meters high. “Spring Clouds over Wushi” was one of the ancient Ten Scenic Spots of Guangchang. Both the Second and Fifth Counter-“Encirclement and Suppression” Campaign battles were commanded from here. On May 27, 1931, the General Front Committee of the First Red Army held a meeting here to plan the assault on Guangchang. After fierce fighting, the Red Army recaptured the county town. In mid-to-late April 1934, during the Battle of Guangchang in the Fifth Counter-“Encirclement and Suppression” Campaign, the positional command post of the First Red Army was stationed here, directing a positional defensive battle to block the southward advance of the Kuomintang troops. Due to Li De and Bo Gu’s insistence on flawed military tactics, the Red Army suffered heavy losses and Guangchang fell.
