Martyrs' Memorial Pavilion of Fu Zhujing

The Martyrs' Memorial Pavilion of Fu Zhujing is a classic red tourism attraction.

Fu Zhujing (1912–1943) participated in all the anti-“encirclement and suppression” campaigns in the Central Soviet Area and the Long March. After the full outbreak of the War of Resistance against Japan, he grew into a senior commander of the Eighth Route Army. He once served as Secretary of the CPC Binhai District Committee and Political Commissar of the Binhai Military District, and took part in commanding a series of major anti-Japanese battles such as the Battle of Ganyu, achieving remarkable military exploits. On November 26, 1943, Fu Zhujing died a heroic death while repelling a Japanese attack on Dantou. To commemorate and honor this outstanding Eighth Route Army general who sacrificed his life for the country, from 1945 to 1950, the People’s Government of Shandong Province renamed Ganyu County as Zhuting County. The people of Ganyu also composed a hymn titled “In Memory of Fu Zhujing.” Currently, the Toupi Town has built the Martyrs' Memorial Pavilion of Fu Zhujing, and a monument has been erected with an inscription in his memory.
