Guangchang County Lotus Science and Technology Expo Park

The Guangchang County Lotus Science and Technology Expo Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Guangchang Lotus Science and Technology Expo Park is located beside the Changsha Highway in Xiaogang Village, Xujian Town, Guangchang County. Themed around lotus research, the park integrates scientific research on lotus, breeding of high-quality varieties, science education, lotus culture exhibitions, and leisure tourism. Covering an area of 140 mu, the project had a total construction cost of approximately 15 million yuan. Construction began in 2008 and was completed in 2009 for operation. The expo park includes several functional areas such as a research trial zone, lotus germplasm resource zone, high-quality variety breeding zone, Chinese and international lotus variety exhibition zone, greenhouse zone, and office management area. It is the largest specialized lotus science and technology expo park in East China. The Chinese and international lotus variety exhibition zone has introduced over 400 representative lotus varieties from more than 200 countries and regions around the world. In the peak of summer—July—when hundreds of blossoms vie for attention, it becomes the best season for viewing.

The park features the Lotus Breeze Bridge, Lotus Rhyme Pavilion, winding bridge, square slab bridge, Lotus Love Square, lotus culture stele pillars, landscape walls, wooden-framed bluestone paths, Integrity Stone, and solar-powered insecticidal lamps.

The Lotus Culture Exhibition Hall is divided into eight thematic sections: Introduction, The Long History of Lotus, Care and Concern from Leaders, New Chapters in White Lotus Research, Unique Lotus Customs for Well-being, Elegant Lotus Forms as Natural Art, Party Building Leading Lotus Development, and Conclusion.
