Jin'aoyu Folk House

Jin'aoyu Folk House is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

Jin'aoyu Folk House is located in Yiqian Village, Yiqian Town, Guangchang County, and is an early Qing Dynasty architectural structure dating back to the Qianlong period. The house gets its name from the eight intricately carved wooden round sculptures of "ao fish" wearing lotus flowers on the slanted beams and supports of its entrance gate, as well as the brick carvings of ao fish with dragon heads and fish bodies at both ends of the gatehouse roof ridge. The main building has a rectangular floor plan, while the auxiliary structures are distributed in an irregular pattern and built with a combination of brick and wood, covering a total area of 920.84 square meters. The overall layout of the residence is unique, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship and rich cultural significance in both its woodwork and stonework. The "ao fish wearing lotus" motif provides tangible evidence for the study of lotus culture.
