Shimen Temple

Shimen Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Also known as Shimen Nunnery. Located southwest of Luyuan Village in Tangyin Town, it stands opposite Taohua Mountain Temple to the north and south. Originally built during the Song Dynasty but later abandoned, it was renovated in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties by Master Jian’an. In the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty (1821–1850), it was destroyed by fire. In the 5th year of the Republic of China (1916), Master Zhuhui devoted several years to its reconstruction. In the 16th year, Ouyang Jingwu wrote the “Inscription on the Restoration of Shimen Temple” for the temple. It has been listed as a key provincial temple.

Tangyin Town: Located in the central-eastern part of Jiangxi Province and southeastern Yihuang County, along the middle reaches of the Yihuang River, Tangyin Town borders Nanyuan Township to the east, Zhenkou Township to the south, Zhonggang Township to the west, and Fenggang Town to the north. The town covers a total area of 179.5 square kilometers, with 31,677 mu of arable land (including 29,376 mu of paddy fields and 2,301 mu of dry land), and 9,953 hectares (149,295 mu) of forested land, including 413.6 hectares (6,204 mu) of fruit orchards, mainly growing oranges, chestnuts, bayberries, and jujubes.
