Battlefield Site of the Huangpi Campaign — The battlefield of the Huangpi Campaign was one of the main battlegrounds during the Fourth Counter-"Encirclement" Campaign of the Central Soviet Area in the period of the Second Revolutionary Civil War. It is located in several administrative villages in the southwestern part of Huangpi Town, including Huangpi, Huoyuan, Dalongping, Jiaohu, Nashan, Dayuan, Ancha, as well as Tangwei in the northern part of Huangpi Town, and in Foling, Taiyuan, Xincun in Shangcai Administrative Village of Erdu Township, and Dengxianqiao, Xiaolongping, and other areas in Lian County. This campaign took place in late February 1933. -,-, Peng Dehuai, Nie Rongzhen, - and others led the Red Army to ambush the - "encirclement" forces in this area. Within just two days, they completely annihilated the 52nd Division, and the commander of the 59th Division, Li Ming, was wounded at the entrance of Dalongping Village and later died in Kuzui’ao Village after being carried to Jiaohu. The commander of the 59th Division, Chen Shiji, was captured in Luofengshan Temple between Huoyuan and Dalongping. To this day, many traces of the battle and slogans written by the Red Army remain in the area. In 1983, the August First Film Studio came to Huoyuan, Dalongping, and Jiaohu to film scenes for a movie depicting the life and achievements of Nie Rongzhen. In 1985, this area was listed as one of the first batch of famous scenic spots in the province.
