Battlefield Site of the Dongbei Campaign — The battlefield of the Dongbei Campaign was one of the main sites of the Fourth Counter-“Encirclement” Campaign of the Central Soviet Area during the Second Revolutionary Civil War. It is located in the southwestern part of Dongbei Township in this county, covering administrative villages such as Dongbei, Caoxiegang, Huangbailing, Cengyuan, Jiangbei, Hexi, and Sanxi, as well as Houfang Administrative Village in Xinfeng Township. This campaign took place in late March 1933. Veteran proletarian revolutionaries such as - , - , Peng Dehuai, and Nie Rongzhen personally directed the Red Army to engage and annihilate the “encirclement” forces in this area. Fierce attacks were launched on Caixiegang, Huangbailing, Pili Mountain, Leigongshan, and Penjiashan Cradle Fort. Within a day and a night, the entire 11th Division, the remnants of the 59th Division, and one regiment of the 9th Division were wiped out, with the division commander Xiao Qian of the 11th Division injured and fleeing. To this day, many traces of the battle and slogans written by the Red Army remain at the site. In 1983, the August First Film Studio came to Caixiegang to film exterior scenes for a movie depicting the life and achievements of Nie Rongzhen. In 1985, this area was listed among the first batch of provincial-level scenic spots.
