Dashima Archway

The Dashima Archway is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Dashima Archway was built in the second year of the Wanli reign during the Ming Dynasty (1574) to commemorate Tan Lun, a renowned general who fought against Japanese pirates. With a history of over 430 years, it is a three-bay, six-pillar granite memorial archway.

The Dashima Archway is a fully stone-mortised and tenoned, intricately carved memorial structure. It is not only a precious physical relic for studying Chinese history and ancient architectural art but also serves as historical material for researching the life of Tan Lun, holding significant historical, artistic, and scientific value.

On October 7, 2019, the Dashima Archway was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
