Nanjing Renhe Fairy Bridge

Located in Nanzhong Village Group, Duozhong Village, Nanyuan Township, Nanfeng County at the foot of Furong Mountain, the area boasts lush vegetation and picturesque scenery, home to nationally protected plants of first and second class such as thousand-year-old ginkgo trees and yew. At the entrance of the village stands a covered bridge named “Renhe Fairy Bridge.” This bridge features an elegant, rustic, and graceful design with exquisite craftsmanship. It is the only ancient covered temple bridge in Nanfeng County, also the only one in Fuzhou City, and is a key cultural relic under the county’s protection.

According to locals, Nanzhong Village was once a post road from Nanfeng to Linchuan and Nancheng in ancient times, bustling with travelers and carts, making it very prosperous. The “Renhe Fairy Bridge” was built along this post road.

In the past, covered bridges typically had small shrines for villagers to worship in, but these were limited in size with few statues. The “Renhe Fairy Bridge” has a very large worship area that almost occupies the entire bridge, with pedestrians walking only along the side corridors.
