The World’s No.1 Cypress

The World’s No.1 Cypress is located east of Jinqiucheng Village in Xiwen Township. It stands 21 meters tall, with a trunk girth of 5.8 meters and a crown covering over one acre. With a history of 2,000 years, it is truly unique in the Central Plains. In the ninth year of the Jian’an era, Cao Cao conquered Ye, then established his royal capital and developed the Southern Military Drill Ground and Xuanwu Pool. The drill ground was used for holding plowing ceremonies and military reviews. The Xuanwu Pool served as a training base for naval forces to simulate water battles. Whenever Cao Cao held plowing ceremonies, military reviews, or naval training events, he would tether his horses to this cypress tree, hence it is also known as Cao Cao’s Horse-Tethering Post. Today, the ancient cypress remains lush and towering, making it one of the area’s tourist attractions.
