General Du Ping's Mausoleum On March 4, 1999, General Du Ping passed away in Nanjing, and his ashes were buried at Jinkuhui Guanyinlian (a local place name) on Chating Ridge, Huangmao, his hometown. The mausoleum faces south and enjoys a panoramic view, radiating grandeur and majesty. Covering an area of over 300 square meters, the mausoleum cost more than 30,000 yuan, funded by his children and constructed by Wanzai Yijian Construction Company. At the center of the tomb stands a mountain-facing stele inscribed with a dedication: “Devoted heart given to China, brilliant talent writing history.” On the left side of the couplet is an inscription by Bu Ming: “A life of military campaigns, fighting from south to north, striving for liberation for the laboring masses; a lifetime of integrity upholding truth, seeking peace and prosperity for the nation with clean hands.” On the right is an inscription by Wu Zhongqi: “A master of both civil and martial strategy, a heroic figure of the era, steadfast in duty and a role model for us all; a noble general with graceful demeanor, literary and artistic talents hailed as exemplary for all generations.”
