To commemorate the brave Workers' and Peasants' Red Army soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Agrarian Revolutionary War, the Wanzai County Revolutionary Committee built this memorial tower in October 1975 in Xianyuan, the former site of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Soviet Government. The tower stands on Luojia'nao Hill, about 50 meters high and located to the left of the Xianyuan Township People's Government. Climbing over two hundred cement steps that wind up the hill, visitors will reach a circular cement platform with a diameter of 11.65 meters. At the north and south ends of the platform are trapezoidal tower bases, each 1.8 meters high. The central wall of the base features a clay relief sculpture. The square base of the tower has sides 4.1 meters long and is 2 meters high. The overall height of the tower is 9.9 meters. The top of the tower has an umbrella-like eave, and at the very peak stands a 70-centimeter-high five-pointed star made of bent steel bars.
