Guo Lüyin Ancestral Hall

Guo Lüyin Ancestral Hall, located on Tiánxià Road, Xīmén Community, Kānglè Subdistrict, Wànzài County, Yíchūn City, Jiangxi Province. This Qing dynasty ancestral hall faces east with a westward orientation, featuring a post-and-lintel timber-framed brick structure. It has four courtyards in sequence, with fire walls and a flush-gable roof. The front is adorned with an elaborate double-eaved gate tower that is tall and majestic, built with fine craftsmanship. Inside the gate lies a courtyard flanked by corridors, with the ancestral hall structure located beyond the gate tower.

Guo Jin, styled Bangqi and also known as Lüyin, passed the imperial examination as a jinshi in the 22nd year of the Yongle reign during the Ming dynasty (1424). He served as the Left Vice Minister of the Ministry of Justice in the 8th year of the Zhengtong reign (1464). He was born in 1387 and died in 1466. The site of the ancestral hall was originally the residence of Guo Jin (styled Lüyin), who held the position of Left Vice Minister of the Ministry of Justice (also known as Sīkòu) during the Ming dynasty. The original house was later destroyed, and the ancestral hall was constructed in the 14th year of the Tongzhi reign of the Qing dynasty (1874), being completed in the 16th year (1876). A "Jinshi Archway" once stood in front of the original ancestral hall but was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution.
