The Shizi'ao Western Zhou Cultural Site is located approximately 1,000 meters northeast of Gaocheng Village, Gaocheng Township, about 12 kilometers from the county seat. To the west of the site are paddy fields, to the southeast are undulating hills, and to the north it borders the Shu River.

Shizi'ao rises 40–50 meters above the ground surface, stretching 500 meters in length and 30 meters in width, covering a total area of 15,000 square meters. The soil is black sand. The entire hill features distinct folds and an uneven surface. At the summit, there is a flat terrace of about 500 square meters that, when viewed from afar, resembles a majestic lion — hence the name Shizi'ao, meaning "Lion Hill." Most of Shizi'ao has been cultivated into vegetable plots, and the surface as well as exposed cross-sections contain abundant stone and pottery fragments. Stone tools include production implements such as stone adzes, stone axes, and stone knives, all finely polished, some entirely glossed, with sharp edges and clear angles. One green tangerine adze was also found. A large number of pottery fragments at the site can be identified as parts of vessels such as ding (tripods), li (tripod cauldrons), bowls, basins, and shoulder-pinched jars. The decorative patterns include cord marks, checkered patterns, raised cloud-and-thunder motifs in relief, whirlpool patterns, dotted circles, zigzag lines, and double-line diamond raised dot patterns. Three pottery spinning whorls were also discovered, in disc and bead shapes, along with four pottery net sinkers, in long strip and bead shapes.
