Xujianao Site

A Western Zhou cultural site located approximately 1,200 meters northeast of Luzhou Village, Luocheng Township, about 29 kilometers from the county seat. It is surrounded by pine forests to the northeast, with Luzhou Bridge to the south and adjacent to Taixi Stream to the west. The mountain range runs east-west and rises over 20 meters above the stream.

The site is over 400 meters long from north to south and more than 20 meters wide from east to west, with a total area of 8,000 square meters and yellow soil. There is a relatively rich collection of artifacts, mostly scattered across flat areas on higher parts of the hillside. Due to severe erosion by rainwater, the cultural deposit layer remains only about 80 centimeters thick. The discovered stone tools mainly consist of stone axes, along with stone arrowheads, stone adzes, stone knives, pottery spinning whorls, and pottery net sinkers. All unearthed daily utensils are pottery fragments, mostly hard pottery. Recognizable vessel shapes include tripods, li tripods, shoulder-pinched jars, high-necked jars, and straight-mouthed zun vessels. Decorative patterns feature large checkered designs, dotted circles, combing marks, net-like knots, multi-line diamond protrusions, stylized cloud-and-thunder motifs, swirls, woven textures, wavy lines, and various composite patterns.
