Cuiwei Peak Nature Reserve is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a national forest park.

The Cuiwei Peak Scenic Area, anciently known as the Jinqing Mountain Region, is like a shining jewel nestled in the southeastern part of China. It is located in the northeastern part of Ganzhou Prefecture, Jiangxi Province, about 5 kilometers northwest of Ningdu County, covering a total area of 78 square kilometers. It lies 168 kilometers south of Ganzhou, the regional administrative center, and 320 kilometers north of Nanchang, the provincial capital. The area features Danxia landform geology, with towering and steep rocky mountains, perilous peaks, peculiar rocks, serene caves, and beautiful waters, creating a uniquely magnificent natural landscape. The Taoist blessed site, Jinqing Cave, was bestowed during the Song Dynasty with an imperial plaque inscribed “Spiritual Spring, Universal Response, True Man” by Emperor Huizong, and was ranked among the seventy-two blessed sites of Taoism in China. By the Qing Dynasty, it had successively hosted eminent figures such as Zeng Xingzong, a distinguished disciple of Zhu Xi and a physiologist; Zeng Yuanyi, a renowned poet and organizer of the “Jianghu Poetry Society”; as well as the “Three Weis of Ningdu” and the “Nine Masters of Yitang” from the early Qing period. These scholars lived in seclusion here, teaching students, composing works, and producing over 20 historical pavilions, halls, cottages, and chambers, along with more than 30 types of literary works spanning thousands of volumes over 500 years. Cuiwei Peak has thus become a timeless mountain celebrated for its scenery, religious heritage, and cultural legacy. It has been included in the contemporary “China Famous Scenic Spots Dictionary,” designated as a national forest park and a Jiangxi Provincial Scenic Area, and stands as a renowned tourist destination.
