Ningdu Meijiang National Wetland Park

Ningdu Meijiang National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

The Meijiang National Wetland Park mainly includes the Meijiang River and Tuanjie Reservoir within Ningdu County, as well as the surrounding water conservation forests. Its geographical coordinates are: 115°53′34″ to 116°6′8″ east longitude, 26°14′44″ to 26°58′50″ north latitude. The total planned area is 6,345.8 hectares, including a conservation zone of 5,165.4 hectares, a restoration and reconstruction zone of 256.0 hectares, an education and exhibition zone of 625.2 hectares, a rational use zone of 288.1 hectares, and a management service zone of 11.1 hectares.

The Meijiang Wetland Park features a composite wetland ecosystem that is primarily composed of the Meijiang River — a typical pristine riverine wetland in the headwaters of major rivers in China's subtropical zone — and Tuanjie Reservoir, a reservoir wetland with high water quality. It also includes supplementary wetlands such as floodplain wetlands, ox-bow lakes, and herbaceous marshes. This wetland ecosystem is highly typical and representative of low mountainous regions in southern China. The total wetland area within the park is 4,471.3 hectares, accounting for 70.5% of the park’s total area.
