Former Site of the Jiangxi Provincial Military Command

The former site of the Jiangxi Provincial Military Command is a protected cultural heritage site of Jiangxi Province and a classic red tourism destination.

The former site of the Jiangxi Provincial Military Command is located in Liziyuan Village, Meijiang Town, Ningdu County. It faces east and sits west, with a pond in front and residential houses to the rear, left, and right.

In late January 1933, the Jiangxi Provincial Military Command moved from Xingguo to Ningdu County and then relocated here, where it remained until October 1934. During this period, Chen Yi, Cai Huiwen, and Li Cifan successively served as commanders, while Li Fuchun, Peng Xuefeng, and Zeng Shan held the position of political commissar. Guo Tianmin, Chen Qihan, and Xue Zizheng served as chiefs of staff, and Cai Huiwen, Liu Chouxī, Deng Xiaoping, Luo Ronghuan, Gan Kehan, and Huang Zhichao served as heads of the political department. The Jiangxi Provincial Military Command was the leading body of the province’s local armed forces. It played a significant role in supporting operations of the main Red Army forces, covering their relocations, and conducting guerrilla warfare. In 1959, it was designated as a Jiangxi Provincial Cultural Heritage Site and was relisted on December 28, 1987.
