Site of the "Huangpi Meeting" of the General Front Committee of the First Red Army Corps
The Site of the "Huangpi Meeting" of the General Front Committee of the First Red Army Corps is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province and a classic red tourism attraction.
In December 1930, the General Front Committee of the First Red Army held a meeting here (the Huangpi Meeting), criticized the Li Lisan Line, and discussed and decided on the strategic policy for further implementing the first counter-encirclement campaign.
The meeting mainly criticized Li Lisan’s “Left” deviationist errors, focusing on strategic issues. The General Political Department of the First Red Army held a propaganda work conference attended by cadres at the regimental level and above in Huangpi Xiapai, discussing political mobilization and the work of undermining enemy forces. After the "Huangpi Meeting," the General Front Committee issued "Eight Conditions for Victory" drafted by Mao Zedong and Zhu De, and distributed the "Thirty Points on Combat Precautions." In late December, the General Front Committee held a "Pledge Assembly of Soldiers and Civilians in the Soviet Area to Annihilate the Enemy" on the Matishi stone site by the Xiaobuhe River, attended by tens of thousands of soldiers and civilians. Mao Zedong delivered a mobilization speech at the assembly and composed a large couplet expressing the strategic thinking of the counter-encirclement campaign: “When the enemy advances, we retreat; when the enemy camps, we harass; when the enemy tires, we attack; when the enemy retreats, we pursue—gaining victory through guerrilla warfare; advance and retreat with large strides, lure the enemy deep in, concentrate our forces, and defeat them one by one—annihilating the enemy in mobile warfare.”
The Site of the "Huangpi Meeting" of the General Front Committee of the First Red Army Corps is a residential building with an earth-and-wood structure, featuring four bays in width and two in depth, covering an area of over 200 square meters. The side rooms on both sides of the front hall are partitioned with wooden latticed doors, and there is a semicircular flower pond in the center of the rear hall. The left room of the rear hall was Mao Zedong’s former residence. On December 28, 1987, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.
