Xiaobu Town Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Xiaobu Town Scenic Area in Ningdu County is rich in red, green, and ancient cultural tourism resources. The region features interlacing mountain ranges, undulating peaks, abundant water sources, and beautiful landscapes with verdant mountains and clear waters. It encompasses more than 183,000 mu of mountainous land, with a forest coverage rate of 71%, and high mountains such as Goudaozui (1,191.7m), Niugushan (1,224m), and Zhugaozhan (1,233m). The area is also home to the renowned Yanbeina Waterfall, as well as over 5,000 mu of ecological tea plantations, making it a natural leisure destination for relaxation, sightseeing, hiking, tea tasting, and reconnecting with nature. The area also features the unique local "Lan Shan Drama Troupe," which performs on the 1st and 15th of each lunar month at Wanshou Palace, carrying forward ancient local cultural traditions.

Xiaobu Town Scenic Area in Ningdu is located in the town center and includes 18 red historical sites such as the founding location of the Central Bureau of the Chinese Soviet Area and the Chinese Soviet Revolutionary Military Commission, as well as the birthplace of the first radio reconnaissance station of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, forming the Chikan Red Historical Site Cluster. In addition, the town houses Wanshou Palace, originally built in the 18th year of the Jiaqing reign during the Qing Dynasty (1813), which is the best-preserved Wanshou Palace apart from the one in Nanchang. Surrounding Wanshou Palace is the reconstructed Yuxing Ancient Street, modeled after the architectural style of Lijiang, Yunnan. Together, they form an ancient cultural site cluster that combines local snacks, handicrafts, and regional cultural displays.

Xiaobu Ancient Street

Xiaobu Ancient Street was established during the Qingyuan era of the Southern Song Dynasty (1195–1201) and became a market town during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Originally, it included streets and alleys such as Yuxing Street, Heng Street, Rice Market Street, Straw Sandal Lane, Incense Lane, Meat Market Alley, Ginger Alley, Paper Alley, Chicken Alley, Chaidam Shang, Wanshou Palace, Laoguan Temple, and Jiulou, covering an area of over 100 mu with more than 100 shops of various sizes. After renovation in 2017, it now consists of Heng Street, Yuxing Street, and 130 shops.

Former Headquarters of the 12th Red Army Division

The former headquarters of the 12th Red Army Division is located on the north side of Xiaobu Town Scenic Area in Ningdu. Originally named the Ning Family Ancestral Hall, the entire structure originally covered an area of over 160 square meters. Later, it collapsed, leaving only the front section. From the end of November 1930 to February 1931, Xiao Ke stationed the headquarters of the 12th Red Army Division here.

Zhu De’s Former Residence

Zhu De’s Former Residence is located on the north side of Xiaobu Town Scenic Area in Ningdu. The site is known as the Qiu Family Ancestral Hall, which was first built in the late Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of 1,133 square meters. From the end of December 1930 to late February 1931, Zhu De resided here.

Gong Family Ancestral Hall

The Gong Family Ancestral Hall is located on the north side of Xiaobu Town Scenic Area in Ningdu. It was first built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1736–1795) and covers an area of 3,024 square meters.

On January 15, 1931, the Central Bureau of the Chinese Soviet Area and the Central Revolutionary Military Commission of the Chinese Soviet were established here. From the end of December 1930 to late February 1931, Mao Zedong, Xiang Ying, Zeng Shan, and Xu Teli resided here. During his stay, Mao organized the "Xingguo Investigation" and "Xunwu Investigation," wrote the prefaces to both, and composed the first half of the poem "Yu Jia Ao – Against the First ‘Encirclement’ Campaign." Two revolutionary slogans handwritten by Shu Tong are preserved on the outer wall of the main gate.

Gong Family Ancestral Hall

The Gong Family Ancestral Temple is located on the north side of Xiaobu Town Scenic Area in Ningdu. It was first built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1736–1795) and was renovated and restored in 2008 by the former Third Department of the General Staff.

From the end of December 1930 to late February 1931, the Headquarters of the First Front Red Army was stationed here. On January 6, 1931, the Red Army first intercepted messages from the Kuomintang news agency using a half-set wireless radio (receiver), marking the origin of the “red wireless.”

Ludexia Ancient Bridge

Ludexia Ancient Bridge is located on the Xiaobu River, east of Xiaobu Town Scenic Area in Ningdu. Built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1736–1795) with donations from local residents around Xiaobu Market, it is a stone arch bridge with three spans, over 30 meters long and 4.5 meters wide.

Wanshou Palace

Wanshou Palace is situated on the southern bank of the Xiaobu River in Xiaobu Town Scenic Area, Ningdu. It was first built in the 18th year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1813) with funding from residents of eight villages including Xiaobu, Huangpi, Dagou, Luokou, Diaofeng, and Shangxi in Yongfeng County. Covering an area of about 4,000 square meters, it includes structures such as the Sanguan Hall, Chenmu Hall, Land Temple, White Horse Temple, Tianpeng, Theater Stage, and Bell and Drum Towers.

From the end of November to early December 1930, Peng Dehuai stationed the headquarters of the Third Red Army Corps here.

Lower Gate Tower of Yuxing Street

The Lower Gate Tower of Yuxing Street is located in the center of Xiaobu Town Scenic Area in Ningdu and was originally the entrance gate of the residence of Huang Rujin. It was first built in the late Qing Dynasty but later collapsed and was abandoned. Only the gate tower remains today.

In January 2018, Xiaobu Town Scenic Area in Ningdu was rated as a 4A-level tourist attraction by the Jiangxi Provincial Tourism Development Commission.
