Old Station Food Street
Destination Introduction
In the bustling Qianmen Street, there is an Old Station Food Street that is completely different from the food courts typically found in shopping malls. With its uniquely designed concept, it transforms into an old-fashioned “railway station” amid the noisy urban environment.
As you enter the Old Station Food Street and slowly descend the escalator, it feels as if you’re traveling through a time tunnel, suddenly taking you back to old China of the 1920s and 1930s. The silvery white lights illuminate the wooden tables and chairs, while the cast iron legs of the chairs gleam faintly green, offering a quaint and cool atmosphere even in the hot summer. The spotless imitation antique brick walls are adorned with vintage photos of movie stars, advertisements, and old Beijing folklore images, like an elderly person recalling stories of the past. Wooden utility poles, vintage airplanes, train engine models, and even steel rails, carriages, and sleepers... all have become decorations in the Old Station Food Street.
Whenever you dine here, looking around, you’ll often see couples whispering to each other, students reading or studying, and occasionally, in a quiet corner, you might find a white-haired elder resting with their eyes closed—judging by their expression, the Old Station seems to have stirred memories of their childhood. “Fried, stir-fried, boiled, steamed—we do it all; try the snacks from Beijing, Shandong, Sichuan, Guangdong, and Shanghai.” You simply must come, see, and taste for yourself.
