Lishan Nanchao Palace

Lishan Nanchao Palace is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Lishan Nanchao Palace is located in Duxi Natural Village, Lishan Village, Duwei Town, Xianyou County, and dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

Description: Constructed in the 44th year of the Qianlong reign (1789) and renovated in the 9th year of the Jiaqing reign (1804), the palace faces northeast and is situated southwest. It has a total width of 27.1 meters and depth of 17.2 meters, covering an area of 466.12 square meters. It is a single-courtyard hallway-style building. The main deities worshipped here include the Heavenly King Tian Gong, the Three Saints and Heavenly Scriptures, and Ambassador Yang Gong. Along the central axis are, in sequence, a brick courtyard, front hall, patio, side corridors, main hall, and side auxiliary halls. The front hall is three bays wide and five rafters deep; the main hall is three bays wide and nine rafters deep, featuring a mixed timber-and-earth post-and-lintel structure with a gable and hip roof. Carved patterns such as flowers and figures adorn components like dougong brackets and beams.

Protected area: An additional 20 meters outward from all sides of the building.

In 2018, Lishan Nanchao Palace was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Lishan Village: Lishan Village is a Hui ethnic autonomous administrative village under Duwei Town, Xianyou County, Putian City. It is located on the eastern side of Duwei Town, between Lishan Mountain and Dongshan–Xishan Mountains. To the east, it borders Shanzhi Village of Daji Town; to the west, it meets the ridge dividing Lishan’s summit in Xiuzhou Village, Duwei Town; to the south, it connects with Dongfeng Village; it lies 1.5 kilometers from the seat of Duwei Town and neighbors Shengshan Village to the north.
