The Wen Clan Ancestral Hall at the former site of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPC in Gaoyang is a cultural heritage site protected by Fujian Province.

The Wen Clan Ancestral Hall at the former site of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPC in Gaoyang is located in Gaoyang Village, Shicang Township, Xianyou County, dating back to 1943.

Description: Originally built during the Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1723–1735) and renovated in 1996. It faces south and measures 16.3 meters in width and 24.72 meters in depth, covering an area of 403 square meters. It is a single-courtyard, corridor-style building, with structures arranged along the central axis: front hall, courtyard, and main hall. The front hall has three bays in width and three columns in depth, with a front porch; the main hall also has three bays in width and five columns in depth, featuring a flush gable roof and a post-and-lintel wooden structure. To counter the siege of the Kuomintang diehards against the Fujian Northern Provincial Committee headquarters, the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee decided to move its base of operations southward to Central Fujian. From October to December 1943, the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and the Fujian Central Special Committee were active in Gaoyang Village. Protective boundary: The area extends 20 meters outward from all sides of the building.

In 2018, the Wen Clan Ancestral Hall at the former site of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPC in Gaoyang was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Gaoyang Village: Gaoyang Village is one of the more prominent revolutionary base villages designated by the province in Shicang Township. In the early 1940s, when the 29th Army launched a major offensive against the Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPC stationed in Northern Fujian, the Committee decided to relocate its headquarters southward to Central Fujian. After arriving in Central Fujian, they first stayed in Linshuishanghudi Natural Village, Lingshan Town, Zhongshan County. Later, led by Wen Xuetao and Wen Chengcai, and after Huang Guozhang and Lin Runan surveyed the terrain and assessed local conditions in Gaoyang, it was decided to move the Fujian Central Guerrilla Command and the Provincial Committee headquarters to Gaoyang.
