Former Site of the Qianhu Liaison Station

The former site of the Qianhu Liaison Station is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Qianhu Liaison Station is located in Qianhu Natural Village, Yilu Village, Yuanzhuang Town, Xianyou County, Putian City.

In early 1949, Liu Zuozhou, head of the Xianyou County Working Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, went deep into the Cixiao area to carry out underground activities and established a liaison station in Qianhu. Since then, the Qianhu Liaison Station safely escorted Liu Zuozhou, political commissar of the Xiande Guerrilla Brigade, and others to the Longhua Batou Liaison Station in Xianyou on multiple occasions, as well as to the Xiande Guerrilla Command in Shipaidou, Duanwei. At the same time, several poor but progressive farmers were recruited to join the Cixiao Guerrilla Unit, strengthening its armed forces. In April 1949, under the organization and command of the Xiande Guerrilla Unit, this team participated in attacks on the Tandeng-Bian Police Station in Duanwei and the Fengting Xinan Granary Raid to distribute grain. They also organized personnel to sabotage the transportation and communication facilities of the local government along the highway from Tuling in Hui’an to Fengting. Their area of activity expanded from the border between Xianyou and Hui’an to mountainous regions such as Xiyuan and Lingxi in Xianyou, making positive contributions to the liberation of Xianyou.

The original house at the former site of the Qianhu Liaison Station has been demolished and rebuilt as a two-story brick-concrete building, covering a construction area of 70 square meters. It now serves as a village elderly activity center. The Party History Research Office of the Putian Municipal Committee of the Chinese Communist Party granted it protected status in December 2011.

Yilu Village: Yilu Village is located 4.6 kilometers south of the seat of the Yuanzhuang Town government.
