The former site of the Santailong Transport Station is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Santailong Transport Station is located in Santailong Natural Village, Dongping Village, Yuanzhuang Town, Xianyou County, Putian City.

In July 1935, Zeng Lu, Secretary of the Hui’an Special Branch of the CCP, along with He Bangji and others, established a hidden base in Santailong, with the transport station set up at the home of Lin Dou. In late July 1937, in accordance with instructions from the Central Fujian Work Committee on the anti-Japanese salvation movement, Zeng Lu upgraded the Santailong Transport Station at Lin Dou’s home to the Central Fujian Work Committee Transport Station, managed by Lin Dou. Thereafter, the Santailong Transport Station became a secret liaison station connecting five counties (Jinjiang, Hui’an, Nan’an, Putian, and Xianyou) for the Quanzhou Central County Committee via northern Jinjiang to the Central Fujian Work Committee headquarters, and during the Liberation War, to the Min-Zhe-Jiang Provincial Committee.

In January 1941, Zeng Lu, Secretary of the Hui’an Special Branch, who had been captured and then released, came to this transport station to recover from his injuries. In 1944, Zhang Shangchu, Chen Youshi, Lin Gongzhen, Cai Han, and others from Jinjiang and Nan’an who intended to head north to join the New Fourth Army stayed here for a period after being guided by Wang Jingxian. Liu Zupi, the special envoy of the Hui’an District Committee of the CCP, along with Zhu Hanying, Zeng Lu, and Zhuang Changwen, were active here between May and June 1944, carrying out covert struggles.

On November 13, 1947, due to betrayal, the transport station was exposed. A company of troops stationed in Hui’an by the Kuomintang launched an “encirclement and suppression” operation against the Santailong Transport Station. Lin Dou, the person in charge of the station, was unfortunately captured and subsequently detained in prisons in Putian, Anxi, Anhai, and Quanzhou. Despite enduring severe torture, Lin Dou never divulged any party secrets and remained resolute. Thanks to meticulous arrangements by the Hui’an County Committee, Lin Dou was successfully rescued from the Hui’an prison in October 1948. Afterward, he continued to undertake the secret liaison work of the transport station until liberation. In July 1949, after the Hui’an Guerrilla Brigade crushed the enemy’s “encirclement and suppression” of the Sanzhu Base Village, they also came to the Santailong Transport Station for rest and recuperation. The Santailong Transport Station was an important secret activity base in Central Fujian during the revolutionary war years.

The former site of the Santailong Transport Station is a single-story civil structure made of earth and wood, covering an area of 180 square meters. A plaque inscribed with “Former Site of the Santailong Transport Station of the Central Fujian Work Committee of the CCP,” written by Xu Jiming, hangs above the gate, and a stele in front of the building commemorates its history of struggle. It was under the jurisdiction of Hui’an County before 1955.
