The former site of the Houzhuolong Liaison Station is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Houzhuolong Liaison Station is located in Houzhuolong Natural Village, Dongjinggong Village, Ga Wei Town, Xianyou County, Putian City.

In late 1948, Lin Buyun, the former head of the local Communist Party organization in Xianyou who had been in hiding for many years, resumed revolutionary activities in the southeastern part of Xianyou. He set up a liaison station at the home of Zheng Peisheng, a guerrilla fighter in Houzhuolong, using it as a base for revolutionary operations. One evening in late July 1949, several members of the Southeast District Committee of Xianyou were holding a meeting on the upper floor of Zheng Peisheng’s house, the transportation hub of the liaison station, to discuss grain collection and the launch of guerrilla warfare. Unexpectedly, they were surrounded by a small contingent of Kuomintang troops stationed in Xianyou. In this critical moment, Zheng Peisheng’s mother, Zheng Qingzhi, cleverly diverted the enemy, allowing the comrades at the meeting to evacuate and escape safely. However, Zheng Qingzhi was arrested and detained in the Xianyou County Prison until August 25 of the same year, when she was released and returned home after the liberation of Xianyou.

The former site of the Houzhuolong Liaison Station is a two-story civil residence with an earth-and-wood structure, consisting of four rooms and covering a construction area of 110 square meters. The Party History Research Office of the Putian Municipal Committee of the CPC provided a protected status plaque for the site in December 2011.
