The former site of the Xianyang County Committee of the Communist Party of China is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Xianyang County Committee of the Communist Party of China is located at No. 13, Sangong Lane, Chengnei Community, Licheng Subdistrict, Xianyang County, Putian City.

In November 1927, Chen Guozhu came to Xianyang and taught at Xianyang County Middle School. Using teaching as a cover, he began to reorganize and develop the Party organization in Xianyang. First, he established the Dongxiang Branch of the CPC, followed by the establishment of the Urban District Branch and the Southern District Branch. Through the efforts of Chen Guozhu, Wang Yujie, and others, the grassroots Party organizations in Xianyang County achieved new development, laying the ideological, organizational, and cadre groundwork for the establishment of the Xianyang County Committee. In December of the same year, the Xianyang County Committee of the CPC was established in the Chen family compound near the county middle school, with Chen Guozhu serving as the secretary and members including Wang Yujie, Xu Shuxiu, Lin Jintang, and Lin Buting. The Xianyang County Committee had four branches under its jurisdiction: Shanggong, Dongxiang, Urban District, and Southern District, with a total of over 30 Party members. The establishment of the Xianyang County Committee marked an important turning point in the revolutionary struggle of the people of Xianyang. From then on, the revolutionary struggle of the people of Xianyang had a strong leading core.

The former site of the Xianyang County Committee of the CPC is the Chen family’s large residence—a well-preserved, five-courtyard, single-story, brick-and-wood structure with three wing rooms, covering an area of 800 square meters. In December 2011, the Party History Research Office of the Putian Municipal Committee granted it protected status with a commemorative plaque.

Licheng Subdistrict: Located in the central area of Xianyang County, Licheng Subdistrict borders the provincial-level Dafeishan Forest Park to the north and the Sanjiao Provincial Highway to the south. It is a historic, culturally rich, scenic, and beautifully landscaped ancient cultural city, as well as the economic, political, cultural, and transportation hub of Xianyang County. Approved by the provincial government, the Licheng area was readjusted, forming the new Licheng Subdistrict Office from the former Licheng Town, former Chengdong Town, and parts of villages (residential committees) of Daji Town. The jurisdiction covers an area of 38 square kilometers, comprising 10 community residential committees, 7 village committees, and a total population of 78,000.
