The Site of the Xikou Battle is a classic red tourism destination.

The Site of the Xikou Battle is located in Xixiao Point, Xikou Village, Daji Town, Xianyou County, Putian City.

In April 1949, after the establishment of the Xiansheng Guerrilla Command, under the direct leadership of the CPC Xiansheng Working Committee, it mobilized the masses, expanded its armed forces, and launched struggles against the "Three Levies" (conscription, grain requisition, and taxation), striking blows against the local Kuomintang regime. This greatly unsettled the local Kuomintang authorities. Song Qinglie, the magistrate of Xianyou County, immediately convened an emergency meeting, ordering the county’s plainclothes squad to dispatch undercover agents to investigate the guerrillas’ movements across all districts and townships in the county. On April 16, two undercover agents sent by the county plainclothes squad had just entered Xikou Village in the western district when they were spotted by local residents and reported to the guerrillas. The guerrillas arrested and executed them. Upon learning of this, Song Qinglie ordered over 200 members of the county self-defense force to move into Xikou Street under cover of darkness that very night to encircle and capture the guerrillas. Mao Piao, the leader of the guerrillas, quickly gathered his team and militiamen and quietly relocated to a small hill opposite Xikou. Catching the enemy off guard, they concentrated their firepower and launched a fierce attack on the self-defense force’s position. Caught unprepared, the self-defense force hastily engaged in battle, and the two sides fought intensely for nearly two hours. Judging that victory was unlikely, Mao Piao ordered a retreat from Xikou and relocation to Nanshan Village in Shanhua for rest and regrouping. Fearing isolation and lack of support, the self-defense force also withdrew to Xianyou County seat that same night.

Daji Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Xianyou County. The Daji Commune was established in 1958. It was restructured as a township in 1984 and became a town in 1991. Located in the southwestern part of the county, along the middle reaches of the Mulan River, it covers an area of 89.7 square kilometers with a population of 85,000.
