The Martyrs' Tomb of Lin Zhi is a classic red tourism destination.

The Martyrs' Tomb of Lin Zhi is located on Baodang Mountain in Dengta Village, Longhua Town, Xianyou County, Putian City.

Lin Zhi (1910—May 1933), also known as Lin Zhenzhong, was a native of Pingyuan Village, Longhua Town, Xianyou County. In his youth, while studying at school, he actively participated in --, and while pursuing his studies in Fuzhou, he connected with fellow students from Xianyou to organize and publish the "Xianyou Special Issue," exposing social ills and promoting democratic revolutionary ideas. In 1928, he was admitted to Daxia University in Shanghai, and by the end of that year, he joined the Communist Party of China at the university. From then on, he engaged in revolutionary activities more actively and resolutely. In early 1930, he was arrested while organizing -- in Caojiadu, western Shanghai, but was later released through the efforts of the Party organization and teachers and students at the university. In the summer of the same year, he returned to Xianyou and was soon elected as a member of the Xianyou County Committee of the CPC. In early October of the same year, he participated in an armed uprising organized by the Xianyou County Committee. After the uprising, the insurgent forces declared the establishment of the 108th Regiment of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army at Maixieyan, where he served as political commissar and led guerrilla forces in armed struggle. By the end of the same year, Red Army forces in various counties of central Fujian suffered successive defeats due to the “encirclement and suppression” by the Nationalist army, and the 108th Regiment was also heavily targeted for “mopping up.” Forced to disband and shift to underground struggle, Lin Zhi, following directives from his superiors, led a group of Red Army cadres to participate in revolutionary activities in the mountainous regions of Putian. In September 1932, he was appointed deputy commander of the Putian Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army Guerrilla Unit. Soon after, in support of the peasant anti-tax struggle in the Xianyou area, he led the guerrilla unit back to Xianyou. In May 1933, in order to secure funds for the activities of the CPC organization in central Fujian, he led five guerrilla fighters in an attack on the Baxia Tax Office in the eastern part of Xianyou (now Bangtou Town), where he was wounded and captured in battle. On May 25 of the same year, he was secretly executed by the Nationalists outside the north gate of Xianyou County.

The Martyrs' Tomb of Lin Zhi was built in 1955 by the People's Committee of Xianyou County in honor of the martyr, covering an area of 20 square meters.

Longhua Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Xianyou County. The Longhua Commune was established in 1958, changed to a township in 1984, and upgraded to a town in 1991.
