The former site of the Minzhong Guerrilla Column Headquarters is a classic red tourism destination.

The former site of the Minzhong Guerrilla Column Headquarters is located in Yuanyuan Village, Huting Village, Zhongshan Town, Xianyou County, Putian City.

In early July 1947, while operating in the Daiyun Mountains, the Minzhong Guerrilla Column (also known as the Daiyun Column) was surrounded by over 1,000 troops from the Nationalist Party’s security forces and local militias from Nan’an, Anxi, and other areas in Shishan, Nan’an. Outnumbered and attacked from both front and rear, the guerrillas faced grave danger. In order to cover the main force's escape from the encirclement, Luo Yingxiang, the column’s chief of staff, led a guard squad to hold off the enemy. Luo Yingxiang was killed in battle. The surviving guerrillas were split into three groups during their breakout. One group, led by Huang Guozhang and Lin Runan, retreated back to Putian. Passing through Hexi Street in Zhongshan, Xianyou, they rested at Nanhu Temple, where logistics were managed by Luo Yingxiang’s younger brother, Luo Yinghuai. Due to the complex situation around Hexi Street, to avoid exposure, the group was moved to Longqi Courtyard (also called Longji Temple) in Huting Village for concealment. Local residents protected the guerrillas by swapping their own clothes with those of the fighters. After resting and regrouping, the unit eventually withdrew safely from Xianyou and returned to the Changtai base in Putian.

After the establishment of the Xianyou Lihu Township People’s Government on July 1, 1949, Zhang Ziyi, the township head, led the Lihu Guerrilla Unit in residing at Longji Temple, actively working toward the liberation of all of Xianyou.

The former site of the Minzhong Guerrilla Column Headquarters, Longqi Courtyard, was originally a Buddhist temple. Today, only the Mahavira Hall and one side room remain, covering an area of 152 square meters.
