The former site of the battle to attack the Guyi Township Office is located in Qiaotou Natural Village, Youyang Village, Youyang Town, Xianyou County, Putian City.

With the approval of the headquarters of the Central Fujian Detachment, the Guyi guerrillas decided in early April 1949 to attack the Guyi Township Office and launch a campaign to break into granaries and distribute grain. Guerrilla members went deep into villages such as Wuchun, Tianma, Jinshi, and Huanglong to mobilize the masses to support their actions. On April 11, led by squad leader Chen Lanyuan, two small guerrilla squads pretended to be passing farmers and gathered in groups of three or five on Xilin Mountain in Wuchun. Fu Debiao dispatched several guerrillas to set up an observation post on a mountain opposite the Guyi Township Office, closely monitoring the movements there. With everything in place, as dusk fell that day, the first squad of guerrillas advanced toward the Guyi Township Office, shouting slogans along the way, while the masses also cheered them on, surging toward the office together. The puppet officials at the township office fled upon hearing the news, and the guerrillas took the opportunity to capture the Guyi Township Office. However, the Guyi Self-Defense Force stationed near the office, relying on a fortified bunker, opened fire toward the office. The guerrillas engaged in fierce combat with the self-defense force, which lasted over an hour. At this point, Wu Guoqing led the second guerrilla squad to reinforce the attack. The stubborn enemy of the self-defense force retreated from the back door and fled to the mountains. The guerrillas pursued them victoriously, injuring multiple members of the self-defense force and capturing five guns. The battle to attack the Guyi Township Office and the campaign to break into granaries and distribute grain achieved complete success.

With the Guyi Township Office captured by the guerrillas and the self-defense force ambushed, all the grain in the Guyi granary was lost. The Kuomintang Xianyou County Government dismissed Lin Zhenya, the head of the Guyi Township. Puppet County Magistrate Song Qinglie convened an emergency defense meeting, ordering troops on one hand to retrieve the grain, and on the other to establish a security joint defense system for the Xingtai area, forming joint defense squads with 90 members each. The squad leaders were concurrently appointed by the heads of the Guyi, Lihu, and Xunyang townships. This shows that the attack on the Guyi Township Office dealt a heavy blow to the Kuomintang reactionary forces.

The former site of the battle to attack the Guyi Township Office is a three-room traditional vernacular house with three stories built of earth and wood. The middle section is the main hall, with side rooms on the left and right. Revolutionary slogans from those years can still faintly be seen on the walls. The building covers an area of 120 square meters and is in relatively dilapidated condition.
