The site of the People's Government of Xunyang Township is a classic red tourism attraction.

The site of the People's Government of Xunyang Township is located in Xiashè Natural Village, Shicang Village, Shicang Township, Xianyou County, Putian City.

In June 1949, the Minzhong Working Committee of the Chinese Communist Party instructed the guerrilla forces of the Xingtai area to further dismantle the local ruling power of the Kuomintang, consolidate the fruits of victory, establish solid bases, continue to develop and expand their ranks, collect grain and supplies, and prepare to welcome the advancing army to liberate all of Xianyou. They also assigned Xu Chunshu as the liaison officer for the Xingtai area to coordinate and maintain communication between the three townships—Xinggu, Lihu, and Xunyang—and the Minzhong Working Committee. Through the active efforts of Lan Bingxiong, Zhang Yuanzi, Fu Debiao, Wang Bing, Wen Xu Tong, and Zhang Ziying, the preparatory work for establishing people’s governments in the three townships of Guyi, Lihu, and Xunyang was largely completed.

By the end of June, the main force of the reorganized Xiande Guerrilla Brigade entered Xingtai. Local Kuomintang puppet officials fled upon hearing the news, and the Xingtai area presented a highly favorable situation, making it the right time to establish grassroots people’s political power. On July 1, the People’s Government of Xunyang Township was officially established, becoming one of the first grassroots people’s governments in the Xianyou area. Wen Xu Tong was appointed as the chairman of the Xunyang Township People’s Government, and Liu Junbing served as the secretary.

Shicang Village: Located in the central area of Shicang Township, Shicang Village is the seat of the township government and a revolutionary base village. It is 43 kilometers away from Xianyou County. It borders Wuhu to the east, Shiyang to the south, communicates with Xitan Village to the west, and adjoins Tiankeng Village to the north. With an elevation of 440 meters, the village covers a total area of 10.38 square kilometers and administers 7 natural villages and 15 villager groups. It has 1,013 households and a population of 3,536 (including 1,877 males and 1,659 females). In 2013, the per capita net income reached 3,670 yuan.
