The former site of the Southern Fujian (Central Fujian) Special Committee of the Communist Party of China is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Southern Fujian (Central Fujian) Special Committee of the Communist Party of China is located at Huluqiu, Tianli Village, Shecheng Township, Xianyou County, Putian City.

In early 1942, the Southern Fujian Special Committee (renamed the Central Fujian Special Committee in February 1943) sent Qiu Ziguo and Cai Wenhuan to establish new bases in Lüqiu, Xianyou, among other places. Later, the committee’s headquarters moved from Chuntai to Xianyou, where it remained for over three years, operating in Luomukeng and Huluqiu, Tianli, Shecheng Township, and staying in the Lui Stone Cave. In February 1943, the Huluqiu Branch of the Communist Party of China was established, with Lin Yuchao as branch secretary, Lin Yucang as organizational committee member, Luo Zilie as propaganda committee member, and party members including Lin Liu, Lin Quan, Luo Awei, Luo Wenxing, Lin Bang, and Lin Yuzhao. In March of the same year, the Central Fujian Special Committee relocated its headquarters to Shanghudi, Zhongshan. In August of that year, the Central Fujian Special Committee once again sent Cai Wenhuan to the Huluqiu and Luomukeng areas to establish a communication station, creating a safe transit route for the provincial committee’s southward relocation into Central Fujian.

On June 25, 1944, when the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China held an expanded cadres meeting in Donghu Village, Xiyuan Township, Xianyou, it learned of an impending attack by Nationalist troops. The committee immediately moved northeast to the areas of Huluqiu and Shihu Di, then followed the military routes used during the three-year guerrilla war, traveling through Chuntai and Zhuangbian in Putian to Guanlie in Yongtai.

The former site of the Southern Fujian (Central Fujian) Special Committee of the Communist Party of China is the Lui Stone Cave, covering an area of 120 square meters. In March 2001, Su Hua, a veteran revolutionary of the Central Fujian revolutionary base, inscribed the words “Site of Activities of the Southern Fujian Special Committee Headquarters.” In January 2003, the Xianyou County People’s Government erected a monument there in commemoration.

Tianli Village: Tianli Village is located several kilometers northeast of the Shecheng Township government seat, with its village committee stationed at Tianli Xincuo. It is a key revolutionary base village where predecessors such as Su Hua and Huang Guozhang engaged in revolutionary work, and it served as the location of the Central Fujian Special Committee headquarters. The village consists of four natural hamlets: Tianli Xincuo, Jiucuo, Huluqiu, and FenShanyang, organized into four villager groups with 120 households and a total population of 530. The village sits at an elevation of 640 meters, with approximately 8,700 mu of mountainous land, about 7,000 mu of forested area, and over 300 mu of arable land. The village’s pillar industry thrives on abundant bamboo forest resources.
