The evergreen broad-leaved forest community on the right side of Jiulong Valley Scenic Area is well-preserved, covering an area of about 21 hectares. The upper canopy is dominated by species from the Fagaceae family, such as Castanopsis carlesii, Castanopsis fargesii, Castanopsis fissa, and Castanopsis faberi, along with other trees including camphor, cyclobalanopsis, sloanea, Engelhardtia roxburghiana, and deciduous species such as sweetgum. The forest also features scattered coniferous tree species such as Masson's pine and Chinese fir. The middle and lower layers are mainly composed of trees such as Schefflera octophylla, Schima superba, and Symplocos sumuntia. The understory shrubs include Loropetalum chinense, Melastoma candidum, and Rhododendron simsii, while the main herbaceous plants are Dicranopteris dichotoma and Diplopterygium chinense. In the bright spring months, flowers bloom in competition, and green leaves flourish; during the hot summer, dense shade covers the ground and cicadas sing in the mountains. The lush vegetation attracts a large number of birds to make their homes here. Birds can be seen perching on branches or taking flight, making the park a paradise for avian life. Strolling along the forest trails and breathing in the fresh air, you can enjoy a forest bath accompanied by the chirping of birds.
