Putian University

Putian University is a comprehensive public undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education of China, offering higher education qualifications and covering multiple disciplines including science, engineering, liberal arts, management, medicine, and education. In 2002, it was officially established through the merger and upgrade, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, of Xinghua Vocational University, Fujian Medical University (Putian Branch), Fujian Advanced Maternal and Child Health School, the Putian Regional Teachers' College, and the Putian Overseas Chinese Physical Education Normal School. The university operates under a joint provincial and municipal administration system, with the Fujian Provincial Department of Education as its supervisory authority. It is located at the foot of Yangmei Mountain in the downtown area of Putian, a city known as the "Land of Culture" and the "Confucian State by the Sea."
