Huang Tao (840–911), courtesy name Wenjiang, was a native of Qiandai in the city of Putian (now Dongli Lane, Licheng District). He was a renowned literary figure of the late Tang and Five Dynasties periods, celebrated as the “Literary Leader of Fujian” and the “Founding Master of Literature in Central Fujian.”

The Complete Library of the Four Treasuries includes the 10-volume Collected Works of Censor Huang, along with one supplementary volume. Descendants of Huang Tao’s lineage have produced 94 individuals who passed the imperial examination, including two zhuangyuan (top imperial examination scholars)—namely, Huang Renying (also known as Panhu Weng), who was the zhuangyuan of the Tiancheng Dinghai year (927) during the Later Tang Dynasty and served as Chancellor of the Duanming Hall Academy (as recorded in the Fujian Historical Chronicles of Zhuangyuan, compiled by the Fujian Local Chronicles Committee, he was Huang Tao’s second grandson, the second son of Huang Xiang, and the younger brother of Huang Renyuan)… More details on Huang Tao++

Longqiao Subdistrict: (1) Overview

Longqiao Subdistrict in Chengxiang District, Putian City, Fujian Province, was newly established in April 2002 following an adjustment of Putian’s administrative divisions. It is the location of the new municipal Party committee and government offices of Putian, with the subdistrict office situated in Longqiao. The subdistrict covers an area of 20.6 square kilometers, including 992 mu of arable land, 7,626 mu of forested land, and 680 mu of water bodies. It administers five community committees: Longqiao, Taiping, Beimo, Xiamo, and Xing’an, as well as three village committees: Sihua, Yanshou, and Yangxi, with a permanent population of 59,000.
