Meikeng Old Revolutionary Base Area is situated in the northwest of Huotong Town, Jiaocheng District, Ningde City, with an average altitude of over 800 meters, covering an area of 50 square kilometers, and comprising four administrative villages: Kengtou, Shangyang, Houyang, and Meixi. This area once served as the central revolutionary hub of Ningde, where the 0 Ningde County Committee was re-established and the Ningde County Soviet Government was formed.

Inside the 24 m² Meikeng Old Revolutionary Base Area History Exhibition Room, located in front of the former site of the Ningde County Soviet Government, historical photos and artifacts are displayed, including a brief history of the Meikeng revolutionary movement, panoramic views of the Meikeng Soviet Area, profiles of revolutionary pioneers, sites of revolutionary importance, and other relics. These materials help us understand the moving revolutionary events that took place in Meikeng in the past, providing historical inspiration and spiritual motivation for the development of the old base area today. At the same time, it serves as an uplifting march for patriotic and revolutionary tradition education, playing an important role in the cultural and ethical advancement of the old base area.

Huotong Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Ningde City. In 1958, the Huotong Commune was established, and in 1984, it was upgraded to a town. Located on the northwestern edge of the city, it is 23 kilometers from the municipal government. Covering an area of 165.8 square kilometers, it has a population of 30,000. The Hutong River runs through the entire territory and has historically been a key transportation route for timber and bamboo from Pingnan and Zhouning counties.
