The Yangzhong Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a natural river-lake type scenic area built around reservoirs, mountain pools, and rivers, incorporating nearby natural and cultural tourism resources. The core project of the scenic area covers an area of approximately 2.6 square kilometers, extending east to the Sanxi Hydropower Station Reservoir, west to the Ximei Reservoir in Linban Village, north to the Longtan Waterfall in Chendong Village, and south to the Southeast Stream. The area boasts convenient transportation, diverse natural ecology, profound cultural heritage, and abundant hydraulic resources.

The waterways in the scenic area meander and twist, with crystal-clear green waters that shimmer year-round, sometimes flowing through natural stone shoals, and at other times gathering into expansive surfaces, offering rich and varied aquatic landscapes. There is also the Longtan Waterfall, which features a natural drop of over a hundred meters, cascading down steep cliffs into a deep valley, where the water remains still yet dynamic. The water is enlivened by the mountains, and the mountains are beautified by the water. Towering peaks such as Tianshan, Qipan Summit, and Zhanqi Peak stand around the area, overlooking the water surface with ever-changing undulations. The lush green mountains blend seamlessly with the clear waters, creating a skillfully composed landscape of rivers, lakes, and mountains — the very heart of the scenic area.

Additionally, the scenic area is rich in flora and fauna, with extremely high vegetation coverage and diverse understory plants that remain lush all year round. It is home to nationally protected plants such as the southern yew, Chinese swamp cypress, evergreen oak, and Japanese cryptomeria, as well as rare protected animals including the pangolin, cobra, and large Indian civet. Nearby tea plantations span over 8,000 acres, serving as the main production area for the nationally award-winning “Tianshan Green Tea.” The area also features nearly 30,000 acres of grassland, making it an ideal location for developing livestock farming bases.

The Yangzhong Water Conservancy Scenic Area is divided into six major zones: the Management and Service Area, the Dreamy Water Town Leisure Zone, the Ancient Village Culture Exhibition Zone, the Aquatic Ecological Conservation Zone, the Leisure Agriculture Sightseeing and Experience Zone, and the Waterside Leisure Belt. It integrates and develops natural landscapes such as the Longtan Waterfall, Linban Reservoir, and Sanxi Hydraulic features, aiming to create a livable urban water environment. The area forms a comprehensive water conservancy scenic zone that combines historical and cultural exhibitions, specialty agricultural sightseeing and experiences, waterfront leisure and recreation, hydraulic science education, water-based entertainment, and health and leisure activities.

Following scientific and rational development, the scenic area has already established attractions such as the “Dreamy Water Town” Leisure Park, Beiyang Modern Agricultural Sightseeing Park, Haoxixiang Square, Xiaochangtan, and a film and television base. In the “Dreamy Water Town” Leisure Park, the river water is crystal clear, with picturesque riverside scenery, blooming flowers, and willows in vibrant green. Along the river, bamboo pavilions, corridors, riverside platforms, suspension bridges, stone benches, and courtyards all offer unique charm. Strolling along the clean and tidy bluestone paths, you’ll find rows of bamboo structures, dense bamboo groves, and a serene, refreshing atmosphere. Here, the fragrance of tea mingles with the scent of bamboo, seemingly telling the profound story of “Tianshan Green Tea Culture.” Visitors can also explore the “Dreamy Water Town” Food Street to try local delicacies such as Yangzhong pig trotter jelly, Guangbing (flatbread), mixed rice noodles, ginger treats, and yellow glutinous rice cakes — a truly unforgettable culinary experience.

Yangzhong Town: Located in the western part of Jiaocheng District, Ningde City, Yangzhong Town is traversed by Provincial Highway Ninggu, covering a land area of 153.3 square kilometers. It governs 33 administrative villages, with 7,974 households and a population of 33,107.
