Ningde East Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area

The Ningde East Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national water conservancy scenic area.

The Ningde East Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area spans from the Jinma Seawall–Jinshetou Wharf in the east to Funing North Road in the west, reaches Tashan Road–South Lakeside Road in the south, and extends to Mindong Middle Road–North Lakeside Road in the north. With a total area of 4.48 square kilometers, including 2.91 square kilometers of water surface, it features the East Lake South and North Shore Parks along with the “one lake, two shores, and three mountains” landscape comprising Damei Mountain, Turtle Mountain, and Jinsheshan Mountain. The scenic area boasts extensive wetlands, making it an ideal habitat and feeding ground for waterfowl. The Twenty-Five-Arch Sluice Gate and the Jinma Seawall are crucial components of the flood control and typhoon defense system for downtown Ningde, serving as a lifeline for protecting the urban core.

It is reported that with the ongoing development and construction of East Lake, the Ningde East Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area will gradually evolve into a multifunctional water conservancy scenic destination integrating science education, wetland sightseeing, quality education, leisure vacation, and scientific research.
