Baihelin Fuxian Ancient Road

The Baihelin Fuxian Ancient Road is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The ancient Baihelin official road is located in Jiguang Community, Jiaobei Subdistrict, Zhongnan Community, Jiaonan Subdistrict, Lingtou Village, and Wanting Village of Chengnan Town, Jiaocheng District, Ningde City, dating from the Song Dynasty to the Republic of China.

Introduction: It was constructed under the supervision of Ding Daquan, then the magistrate of Ningde County, during the Baoqing era (1225–1227) of the Southern Song Dynasty, and underwent multiple renovations in subsequent dynasties. The ancient official road starts from the west gate of the old county seat of Ningde, leading to Luoyuan, with a total length of 10 kilometers and a width of 1.5 to 2.5 meters. Within Jiaocheng District, four continuous surviving sections remain, all built with stacked stone steps. Along the ancient road, there is a wealth of cultural heritage, including nineteen surviving cliff inscriptions and steles, two ancient bridges, four sites of ancient pavilions, as well as relics such as Heling Fortress, Lingtou Barrier Gate Beacon Tower, Jieshou Pass, and Jieshou Beacon Tower.

Protected area: The existing four sections of the ancient official road each have a buffer zone extending 20 meters outward in all directions.

In 2018, the ancient Baihelin official road was designated as part of the ninth batch of Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units by the Fujian Provincial People's Government.

In 2019, the Baihelin Fuxian Ancient Road was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Jiguang Community: Historically known as "Yaqian Street," it was later renamed "Fengbaichi." To commemorate Qi Jiguang, the national hero who resisted Japanese pirates, the area where Qi's army established its headquarters — "Fengbaichi" — was officially named "Jiguangbao" in 1943, changed to Jiguang Subdistrict in 1950, to Jiguang Brigade in 1963, to Jiguang Village in 1984, and officially established as Jiguang Community in 2003.
