Dongshan Liuzhou Ancestral Hall

Dongshan Liuzhou Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected by Fujian Province.

Dongshan Liuzhou Ancestral Hall is located in Dongshan Village, Yangzhong Town, Jiaocheng District, Ningde City, and dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

Description: Also known as Zhongjie Dafu Ancestral Hall, it was first built during the Southern Song Dynasty, rebuilt in the 20th year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1681), renovated in the 36th year of the Qianlong reign (1771), and a stage was added in the 13th year of the Guangxu reign (1887). Facing west, it covers an area of 788 square meters and consists of a gate tower, front courtyard and side corridors, lower hall, rear courtyard, upper hall, and a stage on the right side of the ancestral hall. The lower hall features a flush-gable roof, post-and-lintel wooden structure, five bays in width, and seven bays in depth, with a few-shaped fireproof walls on both sides.

Protected area: Extends 20 meters outward from all sides of the building.

In 2018, Dongshan Liuzhou Ancestral Hall was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Dongshan Village: Located 0.2 km east of Yangzhong Town, separated from the town center by a bridge, it administers three natural villages — Dongshan, Wenshuping, and Shanhouyang — with 20 villager groups, 495 households, 1,920 residents (1,882 permanent and 8 non-local), and 96 villagers with university education. It has 1,335 mu of arable land and 1,511 mu of forestland, primarily engaged in agriculture along with tertiary industries. There are four daily-use shops with annual sales of about 200,000 yuan. Public facilities include three medical stations, one primary school teaching building, one post office, one postal savings office, and one bridge.
