Era: Qing Dynasty

Location: Chafengxia Village, Qiujiang Subdistrict, Sha County

Introduction: Also known as the “Filial Son Archway” Courtyard, it has a square layout, faces south, and covers an area of approximately 8,980 square meters. The main courtyard consists of three sections—left, middle, and right—enclosed by fireproof gables. The central hall’s main bay features a seven-rafter raised-beam structure, while the side bays use a post-and-lintel system; the other halls have main bays serving as reception areas and side bays as wing rooms, all using post-and-lintel construction with flush-gable roofs. Inside the main courtyard, the wood carvings are exquisitely crafted; outside the courtyard walls, two rows of auxiliary buildings and outer walls are built, with a watchtower constructed on the hillside at the southwest corner, used for defense and lookout.

In 2009, Dashuiwan Chen Family Mansion was designated as part of the seventh group of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Chafengxia Village: Located to the south of the county seat, Chafengxia governs four natural villages: Dashuiwan, Tubulong, Tancuo, and Chafengxia. It includes four villager groups, with 254 households and 988 residents, mainly surnamed Deng, Chen, and Tan. The total land area is 2,945.7 mu, including 2,165.7 mu of forestland, 780 mu of arable land, 100 mu of perennial vegetable fields, and 188 mu of orchards and other special-use land. There are three small Type-II reservoirs, and about 12 duck farms of varying sizes, producing 150,000 ducks annually.
