Era: Qing Dynasty

Location: Shuimei Village, Fenggang Subdistrict, Sha County

Introduction: Consists of three forts — Shuangji, Shuangxing, and Shuangyuan. Shuangji Fort, also called Jingde Hall, faces south and covers an area of 1,090 square meters; Shuangxing Fort, also known as Zhimei Hall, faces north and spans about 3,150 square meters; Shuangyuan Fort, also called Shenxiu Hall, faces east and covers around 6,000 square meters. The three earth forts feature balanced and rigorous layouts, with exquisitely carved beams and windows, and are well preserved.

Protective boundary: Extending 30 meters outward from the outer walls of the structures.

In 2009, the Shuimei Earth Fort Group was designated as a Seventh Batch Provincial-Level Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

On October 7, 2019, the Shuimei Earth Fort Group was included in the Eighth Batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Shuimei Village: Located in the southeastern part of Fenggang, Shuimei Village borders the Shaxi River to the east, the ridge of Yalong Mountain and Jinghou Village to the south, Sanggu Village and Sanggu Ridge to the west, and the Zhongji Road of Jinshan and Longdong Village to the north. The main village sits at an elevation of 203 meters, covering a total land area of approximately 7.77 square kilometers. This includes 10,240 mu of forestland, among which 591 mu are economic forests, 2,375 mu are bamboo forests, and the forest coverage rate is 73.2%; there are 501 mu of arable land, 96.28% of which are paddy fields; and 710 mu of tea and fruit orchards.
