The ruins of the headquarters of the Red 3rd Army Corps is a classic site of red tourism.

The ruins of the headquarters of the Red 3rd Army Corps, the Le Ancestral Hall, are located in Guanqian Village, Qingzhou Town, Sha County, about 200 meters from the village office.

In January 1934, the Central Revolutionary Military Commission ordered: “The 3rd Army Corps is to attack and capture Sha County on the 11th, while cutting off their retreat route to annihilate them.” On the 12th, the Red 3rd Army Corps launched its attack on Sha County’s urban area, with the Red 5th Division leading the main assault, the Red 6th Division providing support, and the Red 4th Division positioned in Qingzhou in the northeast of Sha County to block enemy reinforcements from Yanping. On the 14th, learning that about one division of enemy forces from Yanping was advancing to reinforce Sha County, the Red 3rd Army Corps issued orders from its headquarters at Banxi Heng’an, deciding to besiege the city while attacking the relieving forces—keeping part of their forces to besiege the enemy in the urban area and continue tunneling operations, while deploying the main forces to Qingzhou and Qianshan areas on the 15th. The enemy relief force, the 4th Division, had already occupied favorable terrain in Qingzhou. The Red 4th Division maneuvered behind the enemy’s flank to launch an attack, and after fierce fighting, routed over 200 enemy troops. On the 16th, in order to command the battlefield more closely and flank the enemy reinforcing Sha County, the Red 3rd Army Corps headquarters moved to the Le Ancestral Hall in Guanqian, Qingzhou. Peng Dehuai and Yang Shangkun issued the “Order of the 3rd Army Corps Regarding the Priority Capture of Sha County and Preparing to Flank the Reinforcing Enemy” from the Guanqian headquarters, concentrating the main forces of the Red 4th, Red 5th, and Red 6th Divisions along the Qingzhou-Guanqian line.

The Le Ancestral Hall, where the ruins of the Red 3rd Army Corps headquarters are located, was built during the Republican era, featuring a three-bay structure with a through-tenon wooden frame and a flush-gable roof. In 1986, due to the construction of the Shaxikou Hydropower Station, the site was within the submerged area and was demolished.

Local enterprises include Hongyuan Chemical Co., Ltd., Hongqi Hydropower Co., Ltd., a bamboo mat factory, a colored tile factory, and a mosquito-repellent incense powder factory. In 2012, the village had fiscal revenue of 300,000 yuan and a per capita rural income of 12,832 yuan.
