Site of the Guerrilla Communication Station

The site of the Guerrilla Communication Station is a classic red tourism attraction.

The site of the Guerrilla Communication Station is located in Mapu Natural Village, Yongxi Village, Qingzhou Town, Shaxian District.

In May 1944, after the establishment of the CPC Nanshayou Working Committee, efforts were made to vigorously develop revolutionary activities in hidden bases, with a focus on penetrating various areas of Shaxian. In order to advance toward key transportation routes, Lin Zhiqun, then Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nanshayou Working Committee, ventured deep into the rural areas of Shaxian to select Mapu Village along the Yanping–Yongan Highway in the Shaxian section as the communication station. Mapu is situated along the Shaxi River, accessible by boat via waterways and by vehicles via land routes, making it a convenient location for establishing a communication station. Through interactions and familiarization, Lin Zhiqun contacted and trained local farmer Le Jiamu to serve as the person in charge of the communication station. Thereafter, through Le Jiamu, intelligence from all directions was swiftly transmitted; traveling operatives could stay and eat securely at Le’s home; and the guerrillas’ urgently needed supplies could be purchased here and then transported up to the mountains.

The original site of the Guerrilla Communication Station was the former residence of Le Jiamu, the person in charge of the communication station, built in the early years of the Republic of China. In 1986, the construction of the Shaxikou Hydropower Station placed the site within the inundation zone, and it was demolished.
