Beijing Ninghe Temple
Beijing Ninghe Temple is a protected cultural heritage site of Beijing Municipality.
Destination Introduction
Ninghe Temple is located at No. 46 Beichizi Street, Dongcheng District. It is commonly known as the Cloud God Temple. Built in the 8th year of the Yongzheng reign during the Qing Dynasty (1730) by imperial decree, it was dedicated to the worship of the cloud deity.
The temple’s main gate faces west, with a glazed brick screen wall in front. The halls all face south. Major structures include the bell and drum towers and a four-tiered main hall. The temple now serves as a school; the screen wall and bell and drum towers have been removed, but the main hall and rear hall remain. It is a key cultural relic under municipal protection in Beijing.
