Prince Xun’s Mansion
Destination Introduction
Prince Xun’s Mansion is located at No. 13 and No. 15 Fangjia Hutong on Andingmennei Street. Prince Xun, named Yongzhang, was the third son of Emperor Qianlong and was posthumously granted the title of Prince Xun. Later, Mianyi, who was adopted as the heir to Prince Xun, had the mansion rebuilt to the standards of a Beile (a noble rank equivalent to a duke) residence.
The main western courtyard (No. 15) is one of the few remaining mansions built in the style of a Beile residence. It originally had a five-bay main hall (now demolished), with a main building and wing rooms in the rear courtyard. The eastern cross-courtyard served as a garden and living area. The eastern section consists of a complete large quadrangle complex, divided into a main courtyard, middle courtyard, and rear courtyard, all laid out similarly with north rooms and east–west wing rooms. It is a key cultural relic under protection in Beijing.
