Shaowu Folk Museum

Shaowu is a historic and cultural city. Throughout its long history, it has created a splendid material and spiritual civilization — a rich heritage of culture and customs. To help people become familiar with and study traditional folk culture, as well as to promote national culture, this folk museum was built. The museum covers an area of over 2,000 square meters and is divided into five halls, three floors, and thirty-six exhibition rooms. The interiors display more than 2,000 cultural relics, including wedding customs, elderly customs, clothing, daily and production tools, folk art, social culture, and festival customs. These exhibits collectively recreate the traditional lifestyle and culture unique to the Shaowu area during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Additionally, the museum houses 35 life-sized wax figures from the Ming and Qing periods, vividly portraying the production and daily life scenes of the time.
